Weekly Reflection

AI-guided weekly reflections help you track your professional growth, monitor well-being, and stay aligned with your career goals.

Introduction

Weekly Reflection is a comprehensive feature that combines mood tracking, accomplishment review, and AI-guided conversation to help you:

  • Track your emotional well-being over time with visual trends
  • Review and refine accomplishments using the STAR framework
  • Engage in personalized reflection with an AI coach adapted to your role, goals, and communication preferences
  • Generate goal-aligned summaries that connect your weekly work to long-term career aspirations
  • Browse historical reflections with powerful filtering and search

Reflections are organized by week (Sunday-Saturday) and are available during the current week, with a 3-day grace period after the week ends.

Getting Started

Navigate to the Reflections page and click “Start Reflection”. The system will create a reflection for the current week.

Week Availability:

  • Current Week: Always available
  • Past Week: Available for 3 days after the week ends (grace period)
  • Next Week: Shown but not clickable until the week begins

Setup: Mood & Accomplishments

The first step is setting your mood and selecting accomplishments to reflect on.

Rate your overall mood and well-being this week on a 1-5 scale:

Reflection mood
  1. 😞 Struggling - Significant challenges affecting well-being
  2. 😐 Difficult - Below average, facing obstacles
  3. 😊 Neutral - Balanced, neither particularly good nor bad
  4. 😄 Good - Above average, feeling positive
  5. 🤩 Excellent - Exceptional week, highly motivated

Optional Mood Note: Add context about what influenced your mood (up to 500 characters).

Choose accomplishments to include in your reflection. Accomplishments marked as “Draft” will be refined in the next step using the STAR framework.

AI-Guided Reflection Conversation

The core of the reflection experience is a personalized conversation with an AI coach that adapts to your profile, goals, and preferences.

Reflection conversation

Personalization:

  • Role-Based Questions: Managers receive questions about team leadership; Individual Contributors receive questions about technical growth
  • AI Tone Preferences: Encouraging, Direct, or Coaching styles
  • Goal Integration: Your active career goal is referenced at least 2 times during the conversation

Five Reflection Themes:

  1. Engagement - Connection to mission, team collaboration, feeling valued
  2. Well-being - Energy, balance, boundaries, stress management
  3. Career Development - Skills, learning, growth toward goals
  4. Performance - Accomplishments, outcomes, impact, challenges overcome
  5. Accomplishments - Deep dive into specific wins and deliverables from the week

Each theme requires a minimum of 2 questions before transitioning to the next theme. The conversation completes when all five themes are addressed (10-15 questions total).

Goal-Aligned Summary

After completing the conversation, the AI generates a comprehensive summary that explicitly connects your work to your career goal.

Reflection summary

Summary Sections:

  • Goal-Aligned Wins (2-3 bullets) - Accomplishments that directly advanced your career goal
  • Other Wins (1-2 bullets) - Additional accomplishments from the week
  • Challenges (1-2 bullets) - Obstacles faced this week
  • Focus Next Week (2-3 bullets) - Prioritized actions for the coming week

Your summary includes an overall assessment: Strong Progress, Moderate Progress, or Limited Progress.
