olllo is built with privacy at its core. Here’s everything you need to know about how we handle your data.
Your Data Stays Yours
We believe your professional reflections are deeply personal.
olllo is designed as a personal tool for your professional growth. Your reflections, accomplishments, and goals are stored securely and are never shared with your employer, colleagues, or any third parties.
We don’t sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone. Your growth journey is yours alone.
Masking Personal Information with @mentions
When writing about colleagues, clients, or other people, you can use @mentions to mask their real identities. For example:
- Instead of “John Smith gave me great feedback”, write
@manager gave me great feedback - Instead of “Acme Corp project”, write
@client-project - Instead of “Sarah from marketing”, write
@marketing-lead
olllo remembers your @mentions so you can reference the same people consistently, while keeping your data free of personally identifiable information (PII).
Why This Matters
- Privacy: If you ever export or share your data, real names won’t be exposed
- Objectivity: Reflecting on situations without names can help you focus on behaviors and outcomes rather than personalities
- Future-proofing: Your reflections remain meaningful even as people change roles or leave organizations
Data Encryption
Your data is protected at rest and in transit.
In Transit
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3, the latest transport layer security protocol. This means your data cannot be intercepted or read by anyone during transmission.
At Rest
Your data is stored in encrypted databases. We use AES-256 encryption, the same standard used by banks and government agencies. Even if someone gained access to our storage systems, your data would be unreadable without the encryption keys.
Authentication
We use industry-standard authentication through Clerk, which provides secure sign-in with options for multi-factor authentication. Your password is never stored in plain text.
AI Processing
olllo uses AI to help you capture and refine your accomplishments, generate reflection prompts, and provide insights about your growth. Here’s how we handle AI processing:
- Ephemeral processing: Your data is sent to AI models only when needed and is not stored by AI providers
- No training: Your data is never used to train AI models
- Minimal context: We only send the minimum data needed for each AI operation
We use Anthropic’s Claude as our AI provider. Anthropic has strong privacy commitments and does not use API data to train their models.
Data Export & Deletion
You’re always in control.
Export Your Data
You can export all your data at any time in JSON format. This includes your accomplishments, reflections, goals, and all associated metadata. Your data is yours, and you should always have access to it.
Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account:
- All your data is permanently removed from our databases
- Backups are purged within 30 days
- This action cannot be undone
