Troubleshooting
Microphone Not Working
- Go to Settings > Apps > olllo > Permissions
- Tap Microphone and select Allow only while using the app
- If the permission prompt appeared and you denied it, you must enable it manually from Settings
- Restart the app after changing permissions
Transcription Fails
- Check your internet connection: Transcription requires an active connection
- Tap Retry: The app keeps your recording so you can retry without re-recording
- Try a shorter recording: Very long recordings may time out on slow connections
Notifications Not Appearing
- Go to Settings > Apps > olllo > Notifications
- Ensure notifications are enabled
- Check that the app is not restricted by Battery Optimization:
- Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization
- Find olllo and set to Don’t optimize
- Some manufacturers (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei) have aggressive battery management. Check the manufacturer-specific battery settings.
App Crashes
- Force-close the app (swipe away from Recent Apps)
- Reopen the app
- Clear app cache: Settings > Apps > olllo > Storage > Clear Cache
- If crashes persist, try uninstalling and reinstalling from the Play Store
Audio Quality Issues
- Hold the phone 6-12 inches from your mouth
- Avoid covering the microphone (usually on the bottom edge)
- Record in a quiet environment for best transcription accuracy
- The app uses your device’s built-in microphone; external microphones are not supported
Privacy
- Audio is processed server-side for transcription and immediately discarded
- Only the transcribed text is stored
- No audio files are kept on the server
- Your entries are private and tied to your account
- You can delete your entries and account data at any time from account settings
